A Marriage of image, music, and math

This site shows the auditory and visual results of John Whitney's writings in "Digital Harmony." While the math is somewhat beyond my expertise to explain here, essentially Whitney theorized that if you randomnly assigned different rates of change to different objects, colors, or sounds a pattern would inevitably develop.
