Gasp

Unfortunately, that box 'o wine video proves to be false. These guys have a lot of microwave explosions, though!

So interesting. I watched this video a few weeks ago (maybe even posted it on the blog?) and didn't even question it. If you think about it, doesn't all effective art pull off this trick? It doesn't let you think that it could be a lie because it's thought up, planned and put together in a way that makes it feel seamless and magical. Though this video makes a convincing argument from a what is comically an expert in the field (and a very talented guy), the question must be asked: why should we believe him any more than the video he unmasks?

Did anyone else who first saw this video think first to question its authenticity....before you believed that a box of wine in a microwave would do this?

I definitely did not question the original video...
Oh, the internet and what it will make us believe...

I read an interesting semi-related psych study the other day. Apparently people really are programed to believe anything that they read.

I wonder to what extent we are programed to believe things we watch on youtube?
