Interesting. Before I realized this was an ad about/against drinking, I wondered if it was in fact making a fashion statement about a kind of thrashed-sexy look. I see of course I was wrong. Clever clever piece.
I like this. It reminds me of the ad campaign for anti-smoking targeted at younger people that focused on the discoloration of teeth, nails, and skin in addition to bad breath caused by smoking. It really gets at the kind of consequences that most younger people are moved by, which prove to be more vanity and appearance oriented. It seems to work better than just listing the health effects, such as liver damage and cancer, at reaching the target audience.
