i think that this can show how little the artist's intent can have to do with the artistic merit of a piece. this is hard for me to say because i tend to put a lot of weight in the artist's intent. however, i think that in deciding if something is or is not art it is important to first stop asking that question-- it doesn't matter. did this piece make you think? than maybe you were looking at it as a work of art. if not, than you were not looking at it as art. it made me think first about how people will probably read the whole thing (as the poster assumed). what does that say about the viewers/poster? is the poster being a brat? is he being clever? is he being profound? what is art? the poster makes me feel like i shouldn't want to talk about this post, but i do despite him. was that his intent-- to piss me off/engage me? does the poster think this is art? his tone makes me think no. does that matter? what can i take from this physically/visually/mentally? i'm thinking that if this can provoke this much thought from one person some people may want to call it art. would i? no. i'm sick of calling thinks art. upper case A? i looked at this in an artistic way. i thought about it. i internalized it. i took out its art (at least some of it...) other people will both share in what i got from it and probably take other things. its not hard to make art. it can be done by accident. but to make good art can be the most difficult thing in the world.

Brilliant comment. You're right that"it's not hard to make art, it can be done by accident. But to make good art can be the most difficult thing in the world."
This instance seems like accidental art since the tone reveals its sentiment. The keen-ness of your criticism as a viewer/interpreter is what makes it interesting to think about. You didn't just "take out it's art," you gave it an injection. That's not easy to do.
