Robotic Fishy?

I found this clip on youtube completely by accident but I still thought it was pretty cool. It made me think about that video we watched a while ago on robotics. I can't say that I see an actual purpose for a robotic fish, but it's gorgeous and fascinating to watch, especially when it is swimming. It moves just like a real fish.

It scares me to think that we're working on building replacements for the real thing. It's a shame that we'll probably actually need them soon enough.

With one these as your child's pet, you'd never need to have the "death talk". Maybe the, "mailed back to the factory for repairs talk", but that's much easier.

but pets are around to teach children about death. so they can understand when grandma isn't coming back. why would we want to "protect" children from reality, from truth, from humanity... because its uncomfortable for us to talk about? maybe if death were more a part of our lives it wouldn't be so strange to talk about it.
sorry, i went kind of weird deep on a humorous comment. oh well.

Jenn.....agreed for sure. I was definitely being sarcastic. I do feel like pets are around for much more than just the death talk though! So robot fish aren't good for any kind of life lesson at all actually.
