Synesthesia

This video reminded me a bit of what Tessa was trying to do in the last assignment. I think this video is beautiful and does a great job blurring what we usually consider to be fairly defined senses.

I am so glad you found this video! Synesthesia occurs when stimulation of one sense is involuntarily paired with another sensory experience. This video illustrates that concept beautifully and in the "showing" manner we talked about in class. It doesn't outright tell you what it's try to say. In my video, I was definitely working off that concept of pairing two different sensory/cognitive experiences (color and story), but I really like how this video conveys many different types of synesthesia and does so in a really captivating and bizarre way. It just strikes me as an interesting subject for art since synesthesia often leads to creative work.

Wow, what a gorgeous and sensorially thrilling video. It also reminds me of the soundtrack assignment in which I asked you to replace the sounds of the various objects/actions. Of course this takes it to another level the way it plays with your mind. I loved it when the music picked up and everything started happening at once. It had a great build to that. fantastic stuff.

These images are simultaneously so beautiful and so jarring. The music too. Thanks for sharing!
