Joaqin Phoenix on Wednesday's Letterman Show

Some of you may have already seen this clip of Joaqin Phoenix on Wednesday's David Letterman show, but if you haven't, it's not to be missed. I think this is a great piece of performance art, deep and really smart in a way. But some people may feel that JP has gone off the deep end or something. I also sort of appreciate seeing Dave Letterman so reduced and helpless. The last time something great like this happened - that I know of - was with Crispin Glover on Letterman way back in the 90's. I've posted some videos and interviews about that event as well.

Here is Crispin Glover appearing on Letterman in the late 1980's. Letterman leaves the set after Glover kicks the air near his head.

Watch here, Crispin Glover talks about his notorious Letterman appearance in a very interesting way. I love what he says.
