photo a day

I recently fell into an obsession with these "take a picture of yourself everyday" videos. I think they are completely awesome, especially the ones that track a long period of time and you can see their faces change.

I think the 41 years is very compelling. The morphing transitions underscore the transformations, and also highlight the features that remain fairly constant.

and tyler, I would disagree with you. I thought it would have been more compelling if there was more energy to the piece, ironically, it seemed dull and stagnant- when I am sure a man of 41 would not like to think of his life. But I do agree that some of the morphing was neatly done. In addition, the first one seemed to highlight the features that remain constant- or rather make clear to us the features we recognize on a person. What say you tyler (anyone else)?

I personally thought the first one didn't really show much of anything - change in location and clothes (and lighting) were what caught my eye, without much growth or difference in the person (besides a few different haircuts). Rather than highlighting any specific features, it just had the same face, almost unchanged. I think a larger scope of time would make the first one more interesting.

Now here I think is an interesting photo-a-day video over a similar length of time:

here, again, the face changes, and it remains quite high energy (not in small part to the amazing facial expressions, which I find to actually be the most interesting part of the video).

I find the second one here; the one that covers 41 years, to be amazing. Stylistically the morphing is really pleasing and haunting for me. The music adds to to the drama of that. Powerful little piece, I would like to know exactly how those 3-d segways were done.

I thought both of these were really great. The first was more fun and interesting. The 41 years was simply amazing.

Oh my god that woman is gorgeous, and she did such an amazing job of editing the photos to match up so well. I can't stop watching this.

*I think it's important to note that the music worked so well with her video also.
