Lady Gaga & Performance Art
I love watching dance videos. There is a strange relationship between listener and artists as the listener, by viewing a performance, percieves the intent of the artists through choreography. The MTV Music Awards highlights different up-and-coming artists that show promise not only in lyric, but also in performance. Lady Gaga has a very unique approach to performance. I thought it was odd it was on MTV because it is an off-the-wall performance on a mainstream television network, but then I realized that maybe this is a step in an artistic direction versus the mundane performances of previous artists. Here's the video for you to get a sense of what I mean by off-the-wall...

I love the artistry of Lady Gaga. Even the original video for this song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQJ9Vi8GLok) is incredibly avant garde. I think her work is pretty dimensional and dynamic, especially relative to some of her contemporaries. While her messages are a tad redundant, the way she presents them are always new and exciting.
